The experience

Mulino Veneziano offers a short cultural visit for travellers who wish to discover local heritage and enjoy authentic flavors, bread with olive oil and tsikoudia, even within a limited schedule. Guests walk through the historic mill, learn its story and enjoy a light tasting in a peaceful natural setting.

The Mill, the water & the story

Set beside the Tavronitis river, the mill once operated using the natural force of flowing water. Today a live technological representation allows visitors to understand how water powered the mill and turned grain into flour, bringing history to life in a sustainable way. Inside the stone building, a “small museum” displays original tools such as old scales, sieves and wooden troughs. Also a list from wines, tsikoudia, honey, olive oil and many other products all from locals producers, which can be purchased or consumed within the olive grove.

During the visit, fresh bread is already prepared and gently warmed in the traditional wood fired oven, filling the space with aroma and warmth. Guests enjoy it together with a shot of tsikoudia and simple local accompaniments such as olives and extra virgin olive oil. A small, but yet authentic tasting that completes the experience.
